TGR EDU: Explore

Entered in Nonprofit

Objectives

TGR EDU: Explore seeks to equip students with problem-solving and decision-making skills with real-world applications in college access and STEM learning.

Strategy and Execution

TGR EDU: Explore provides resources designed to enhance 21st century skills through STEM learning and equip students with the information and confidence they need to get into the college they want and pay for it.  TGR EDU: Explore uniquely provides no cost resources for both students and teachers to identify and pursue their passions.

In collaboration with TGR Foundation, Discovery Education produced standards-aligned, no cost digital lesson bundles, training videos and professional development webinars that can be downloaded on the website and integrated immediately into classroom practice.  The digital lesson bundles invite students to engage in real-world problem solving and provide examples of STEM career opportunities.  The training videos offer educators tips on implementing the digital lesson bundles in their classrooms. Similarly, the webinars provide professional development in key areas including integrating STEM, differentiated instruction, project based learning and social and emotional learning into classroom practice.

Results

Since the program’s launch in September 2018, TGR EDU: Explore has had 200 educator views on training videos, 500 educator views on the professional development webinars and more than 11,000 curriculum downloads reaching nearly 60,000 students. In 2019 alone, the program enjoyed over 17 million online and social media impressions.
