Objectives

Logo's "Trailblazer Honors" is an annual special event that celebrates leaders at the forefront of LGBTQ equality. The objective of the Trailblazer Honors is to celebrate trailblazing LGBTQ individuals and honor those who have laid the groundwork for LGBTQ rights.

Strategy and Execution

This theme for this year's awards show was "Pride is not enough" and focused on ways to take action for the LGBTQ community. One way the show asked people to get more involved, was by asking them to visit action.logotv.com, a hub where viewers could sign a pledge to stand in solidarity with other communities, join organizations fighting for trans rights, and other actions related to issues that affect the LGBTQ community.

Logo's "Trailblazer Honors" was held at Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York City, one of the first religious institutions in New York City to champion the causes of the LGBTQ community.

At this year's "Trailblazer Honors," the largest televised LGBT pride event:

Joe Biden saluted the creators of Will and Grace at the show for their work in pioneering LBGTQ relationships on television.

Cyndi Lauper, Cleve Jones, and Alvin Ailey were honored for their work with the LBGTQ community and its' impact.

Tittuss Burgess introduced Daniel Arzola for his work in showcasing the important ways in which art has had on LGBTQ history.

Gavin Grimm, the student embroiled in a Supreme Court case about trans students being able to use the proper bathrooms, was also honored.
