Keep The L.A. Derby Dolls Rolling

Finalist in Sports

Objectives

The L.A. Derby Dolls' future bouts were in danger of being canceled until it could raise the initial funds needed to begin repairs ($60,000) to bring its "Dolloseum" venue in Los Angeles up to code. They needed funding to cover construction, architecture and engineering services related to building and safety compliance.

That's where we came in. We created a campaign to keep the Derby Dolls rolling and educate fans about their issue and mission to get funding.

"We read about their plight and wanted to find a creative way to help them out," said Marcus Wesson, Executive Creative Director at Dailey. "Their mission of empowering women through sport is so important, especially in these times."

Strategy and Execution

We created shareable video content that we shared across the Derby Dolls social media channels. Throughout the month of June, we seeded 20-second videos that led up to the final reveal video, the "L.A. Derby Dolls Need A Place To Skate" film.

All pieces of content led fans to the GoFundMe page to encourage people to donate to this worthy cause.

All posts were curated under the #KeepLADDRolling hashtag.

Results

Within 4 months, we helped the Derby Dolls raise over $69K, and it's still rising as we continue to work with them.
