Objective

Our Vertical Videos for LinkedIn are short, snappy, vertical (9x16) videos under 90 seconds long which often center on one specific insight, and leave viewers with an actionable takeaway. They allow us to meet audiences where they are, however they most want to consume or access knowledge at that moment. The LinkedIn Editorial Productions team, having a history of producing and publishing videos on the platform for years, set out to re-feature existing longform content and produce net-new original interviews as shorter, rich sound bites.

Strategy

Through a period of experimentation, our team developed a specification and best practices for determining what made for a valuable Vertical Videos for LinkedIn. We tracked our highest performers and distilled learnings from those which performed on the lower end.
