Verizon AR Pro Interactive App

Objectives

Showcase the power of Verizon’s 5G using next-gen XR tech. Create an instructional tool that users could refer back to when learning new techniques or to discover more about their favorite professional athletes and fitness experts. 

Strategy and Execution

Trigger built the Verizon AR Pro Interactive app in close collaboration with Verizon, featuring holographic videos captured with Microsoft's volumetric capture technology at Metastage Studios. Developed initially as a proof-of-concept (POC), the AR Pro app is an immersive educational tool that enables fans to learn from their favorite athletes who appear as 3D holograms in AR. The app utilizes next-gen XR technologies to showcase the power of 5G. Each athlete provides a breakdown of their signature move, and users have the option to compare their own moves or take photos alongside the athlete. Upon launch, volumetric content from Ray Allen, Tony Finau, Megan Rapinoe, and Sloane Stephens was available in the app and additional athletes continue to roll out regularly.. The App is only available to active Verizon Wireless postpaid subscribers on a qualifying 5G Ultra Wideband plan with a 5G Ultra Wideband-capable smartphone.

Results

Upon launch, volumetric content from Ray Allen, Tony Finau, Megan Rapinoe, and Sloane Stephens was available in the app allowing users to compare their form side-by-side with an athlete, providing a breakdown of their signature move.
