The YouTube Star of the Year Award, presented by A&E, honors the best video producers who are able to entertain on the ever changing digital video platform. You no longer need to appear in a film, TV show, or win a national competition to become famous. With the use of social media, otherwise unknown personalities have become famous through YouTube with videos about how nerds would fight popular people, “epic" rap battles between famous people throughout history, and even auto-tuning current events.
