As the world leader in serving science, Thermo Fisher Scientific wanted to celebrate the artistry of cell imaging by hosting a Beautiful Science Cell Images Contest. Our goal was to obtain 30 submissions which we would be illustrated in a coloring book inspired by beautiful science produced in the lab.
Once produced, we wanted to distribute 5,000 copies globally.
We solicited submissions with a social campaign on Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn targeted to scientists with using the following phrases:
"Your science is so beautiful, it should be in our book"
"Who doesn't want to get published?"
"Submit your beautiful science for a cell imaging coloring book"
"Let's make a coloring book from your cell images"
We received 78 entries from 12 countries, exceeding our goal by 160%
We have distributed 7,355 coloring books to date, exceeding our goal by 47%.
